Summer Art & Book Series Camp (Ages 4-6 years)
In this four week art class series, your child will learn about textures, colors, and use different types of art media to create group and solo projects. Join us for all four weeks or select your favourite book and join us those weeks only. These projects will be based on four books either written by Maine authors, or that tell a story that takes place in Maine. Over the course of the class, attendees will be given the opportunity to practice valuable skills such as using scissors, tracing, painting, gluing, working together, problem solving and more, all while having fun!
Date: (Week 4) August 11-13; 3 day camp (Tuesday-Thursday)
Time: 2pm-4pm
Ages: Ages 4-6 years
Price: $140.00 (all supplies/materials included)
Instructor: Emily Freeman
Week Four- The Little Fisherman
In our final week of art camp, we will read a book by Margaret Wise Brown called The Little Fisherman. This book tells the tales of a big fisherman and a little fisherman that does everything the big one does, even though he is smaller. I think this teaches us an important lesson that even if you are small, you can still be mighty! Your child will participate in a group sailboat mural where we all work together to create a whimsical scene. We will also make “wiggly fish”, and be sure the sailboats can make it home at night by fashioning our very own lighthouses.
