Summer Art & Book Series Camp (Ages 4-6 years)

In this four week art class series, your child will learn about textures, colors, and use different types of art media to create group and solo projects. Join us for all four weeks or select your favourite book and join us those weeks only. These projects will be based on four books either written by Maine authors, or that tell a story that takes place in Maine. Over the course of the class, attendees will be given the opportunity to practice valuable skills such as using scissors, tracing, painting, gluing, working together, problem solving and more, all while having fun!

Time: 2pm-4pm

Ages: Ages 4-6 years

Price: $140.00  (all supplies/materials included)

Instructor: Emily Freeman

Week One- Blueberries for Sal

In our very first week of art camp, we will read our first book about Maine! Blueberries for Sal is a classic book that brings together the love for Maine summers and blueberries, along with some curious wildlife and a little girl who is eager to eat as many morsels as she can. To bring this to life with art, your children will be making buckets out of clay, exploring the textures of cork and cotton balls while “stamping” blueberries, and bringing life to the black bear by painting with anything but paint brushes!
