Fashion tells a story—and this class brings it to life on paper. From historical fashion plates to contemporary illustration, artists have long used drawing to capture style, movement, and the spirit of an era.
In this hands-on class, students will explore the art of fashion illustration through observation, sketching, and visual storytelling. They will learn to draw the human figure, clothing on the figure, movement, texture, and expressive line—strengthening both technical skill and creative confidence.
Students will examine how fashion has been illustrated across time, from historical dress and early fashion plates to modern editorial illustration. Through guided lessons and creative exploration, they will develop an understanding of proportion, gesture, and personal style while building a strong foundation in drawing.
Designed for a range of experience levels, the class supports both beginners and more experienced young artists. Beginners will be guided step by step through foundational skills, while seasoned students will be encouraged to refine their work through stylistic experimentation and thoughtful detail.
By the end of the session, students will have a curated collection of original fashion illustrations inspired by history, observation, and imagination—work that reflects both skill and individual expression.
